Aaron Broch Pope

Aaron Broch Pope, age 32 and formerly from Abingdon, VA, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at his residence in Blacksburg, VA. Aaron was a 1997 graduate of Abingdon High School and was a member of First Christian Church in Abingdon, VA. He later graduated from Virginia Tech in 2002 where he was a cheerleader. After college, Aaron worked at Pioneer Chevrolet for several years and recently was continuing his education and working in Blacksburg, VA. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee H. and Alice Ruth Pope and Marshall W. and Ruth C. Blaylock.

He is survived by his parents, Kenneth L. and Cheryl Pope of Abingdon, VA; two brothers, Kevin (Beth) Pope and Steve (Lisa) Pope both of Abingdon, VA; grandparents, James E. and Winfreid Fleenor; nieces and nephews, Kenny, Meghan, Paeyton, and Paizlee Pope; special friends, Richard and Judy Barnett.

Funeral services will be held 5:00 P.M., Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Minister Tom Crise officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Scott Gephart, Matt Dunne, Matt Shortt, Josh Shortt, Aaron Anderson, Brad Arnold, Brendan McSheehy, Jimbo Messer, Kenny Pope and Paeyton Pope serving as pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be 3:00 P.M. 5:00 P.M. Saturday just prior to the service.
