Agnes Nadine Lester

Glade Spring, Va.

Agnes Nadine Lester, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at her home. She was born on September 18, 1929 to Ernest and Viola Lester. Agnes will always be remembered for her famous biscuits and sweet tea, which she graciously offered to everyone who showed up for dinner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Martha Lester and Lucille Kelly and her brother Roland Lester. She is survived by her sisters Ann and June Lester of the home, Bea Mason of Chilhowie, and brothers J.G. (Jo Ann) Lester, Fred (Peggy) Lester, and Scott (Linda) Lester all of Glade Spring; nieces and nephews Allen (Carolyn) Kelly, Butch (Brenda) Lester, Randy (Janet) Lester, Jason (Cristie) Lester, Tammy (Jimmy) Parks; great nieces and nephews Jacob Lester, Meagan, Brandon, and Jonathan Kelly, and Brooke Higgins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 22, 2017at the Glade Spring Presbyterian Church at Old Glade, with Rev. Tim Bird officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery where nephews will serve as casket bearers. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
