Mack Hurd, Sr., 78, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010 at his home.
He was born in Russell County, VA and was a son of the late James Walter and Nannie Belle Marshall Hurd. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; one brother, June Hurd and one sister, Virginia Robinson.
Survivors are two sons, Raymond Hurd of Abingdon and Mack Hurd, Jr. and wife, Kimberly of Bristol, VA; three brothers, Ray Hurd and wife, Irene of Wise Co., VA, Roy Hurd and wife, Bernice of Scott Co, VA and Edward Hurd and wife, Mary of Indiana; one sister, Evelyn Helbert; two grandchildren, Jamie and Evan Hurd; two step grandchildren, Anthony Roe and Ben Arnold; six great grandchildren, Anthony, Alyssa, Joshua, Elizabeth, Madeline, and Jonathon Hurd; former daughter-in-law, Sandra Hurd; special friends, Don Salyers and family and Don Johnson and family and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 7, 2010 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Paul Price officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Roe, Wayne Chaffin, Allen Price, Billy Shaffer, Jay Helbert and Brett Helbert.
The family will receive friends at Farris Funeral Service from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday.
