Alice Jaunita “Nene” Robinette, 79, of Abingdon, Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025, surrounded by family. Born August 2, 1945, to James and Hazel Dare Eggers, she was a devoted wife, sister, aunt, and nurse.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wade Robinette; her parents; her sisters, Rosalee Eggers, Dolly Eggers, and Shirley Hunt; and her brothers-in-law, Greg Turner, Bill Rose, Don Yates, and Jerry Hunt.
She is survived by her brothers, Dan Eggers (Darlene) and Jim Eggers (Margo); her sisters, Ruby Yates, Sue Rose, Kathy Rose, and Connie Cress; her sisters-in-law, Sharon Turner and Yvonne Poff; and her brothers-in-law, John Robinette and Bobbie Laney (Naomi). Nene shared a special bond with her nephew Aron Turner, his wife Ashley, and their children, Ayden and Cade, whom she cherished as her own grandchildren.
A dedicated nurse, Nene earned her LPN in 1964 and became a Registered Nurse in 1975. She and Wade spent many years in Aurora, Illinois, before retiring to Abingdon. She had a creative spirit and loved crafting, gardening, mowing, and traveling. She took great pride in her home, always keeping it spotless and filled with beauty.
Though quietly faithful, Nene’s strength and love touched everyone around her. After Wade’s passing and her own cancer diagnosis, she faced her final months with grace and courage. She is now reunited with Wade, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
