Allen E. Baumgardner

Mercer, Pa. Allen E. Baumgardner, age 82, of Mercer, Pa. and formerly of Alvarado, Va., passed away September 3, 2015, at the home of his daughter Sherry Grunthaner. He was born November 7, 1932, to the late Burg and Pearl Blevins Baumgardner. Allen was preceded in death by one sister, Nell Baumgardner; one infant brother, Jacob Baumgardner; one infant sister; step-mother, Nora Smith Baumgardner; two brothers, Everett (Eulala) Baumgardner and Melvin (Frances) Baumgardner; and one grandson, Joshua Baumgardner. He is survived by four daughters: Sandra (Gerald) Rhoades of Mercer; Deena (Jeffrey) Burnett of Hermitage, Pa.; Deborah Baumgardner of Sharon, Pa.; and Sherry (Kenneth) Grunthaner of Hadley, Pa.; son Allen (Glenna) Baumgardner of Mercer; four sisters: Carolyn (Floyd) Nelson, Evelyn (Ray) Stevens, Bertha (Coy) Cannon, and Lee (Kent) Smith; two brothers, Tom (Shirley) Baumgardner and Harold Baumgardner; 15 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Allen Baumgardner will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015, at 5:00 p.m. at Greenwood Freewill Baptist Church in Alvarado, Va. Services will be conducted by Bro.
