Bristol, VA – Alvin Widner, 91 years of age, is now walking the streets of gold in Heaven where he was welcomed by his Lord, Jesus Christ, and family and friends gone on before him. Alvin retired from Westinghouse Corporation and was of the Baptist faith. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a Mason.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick Mack and Lottie Oliver Widner; and several brothers and sister.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ethel Hayden Widner; two sons, Pat (Vickie) Widner and Jay (Janet) Widner; four grandchildren, Matthew, Laura, Cody, and Austin; four great grandchildren; and several neices and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2022, at Mt. View Cemetery in Bristol, VA with Pastor Scott Price officiating. Pallbearers will be Pat Widner, Jay Widner, Matthew Widner, Cody Widner, Austin Widner, and Steven Singer. Military rites will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Air Force. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to convene at the cemetery before 2:00 p.m.
