Annie Lee Taylor Overbay

Glade Spring, Va. – Annie Lee Taylor Overbay, age 87, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017, in Bristol Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Overbay was born in Broadford, Va. to the late Walter Lee Taylor and Bertie Mae Vanhoozer Taylor and was a 1947 graduate of Rich Valley High School. Annie Lee was a member of Glade Spring Baptist Church for over 50 years where she was very active and served as a Primary Sunday School Class Teacher for over 30 years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Thomas Jesse Overbay; brothers, Roy Taylor, Charles Taylor, and William Taylor; and sister, Elizabeth French.

Annie Lee is survived by her son, Larry A. Overbay and special friend Linell Rowland; daughter, Sharon Overbay Green and husband Dr. Thomas Green of Bristol, Tenn.; sisters, Ethel Roe of Chilhowie, Va. and Marie Roberts of Rich Valley, Va.; grandchildren, Ashley Overbay Terrell and husband Andrew of Nashville, Tenn., Matthew R.T. Overbay of Richmond, Va., Kemble Green of Eugene, Ore., Adam Green of Knoxville, Tenn., Andrew Green and wife Cathy of Richmond, Va., Virginia Bartlett and husband Shane of Los Angeles, Calif., and Elizabeth Green of Roanoke, Va.; five great-grandchildren; one expected great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2017, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Glade Spring Baptist Church, 414 South Monte Vista Drive, Glade Spring, VA, with Pastor Jeanne Denton officiating. Interment will follow in Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
