Bristol, VA – Anthony Harold (Tony) Hayter, age 54, entered the gates of Heaven gloriously surrounded by those who love him, on March 26, 2021, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born on April 27, 1966 to the late Nelson and Darlene Hayter. Tony was a hard-working man, having spent the last thirteen years working on Food City’s Reset Team.
He was always selfless and putting others before himself. Tony loved working with the youth group at church and going on mission trips to help people in need. He was an active member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church and loved playing bass guitar in the contemporary worship band. Tony loved his family endlessly and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 29 years, Natalie; two daughters, Kristen (Alex), and Sarah; one brother, Randall Hayter (Tamara); one sister, Susan Gobble; father- and mother-in-law, Carl and Nita Jordan; brother- and sister-in-law, Greg and Vicki Gobble; niece Jordan Gobble; nephews, Cooper Gobble, and James Hayter; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as his extended church family who loved him dearly.
The family would like to thank all of his caregivers at Bristol Regional Medical Center for their compassionate care.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Pleasant View United Methodist Church (18416 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210). A Celebration of Life service will follow at 7:00 PM, with Pastors Stan Green, Barbara Farmer, and Dale Gilbert officiating. Covid-19 guidelines will be followed, which includes wearing of masks, social distancing, and adherence to occupancy rules.
Mausoleum interment will be at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. The Committal service will be private, for family only.
