Anthony T. Rackowski, 78, of Abingdon, VA passed away on , Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Tom is survived by his wife, Susan Rackowski; two daughters, Margie Rackowski of Wilmington, NC, and Marcia Lee Francis of Scottsmoor, FL; a son Joey Rackowski of Abingdon; three grandchildren, Thomas and Michael Richardson, and Jonathan Rackowski. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Rackowski.
A Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 820 East Main Street, Abingdon, VA 24210 with Father Paul Maier officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the church prior to the mass.
Burial will be in Barrancas National Cemetery, Naval Air Station, 1 Cemetery Road Pensacola, FL 32508 at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford St., Boys Town, NE 68010 or to Christ the King Catholic Church, P.O. Box 1201, Abingdon, VA 24212.
