Abingdon, VA- Mr. Arvil Lee Colley, age 71, passed away at his home on Sunday August 10, 2014. Mr. Colley was born in Dickenson County, VA and moved to Indiana as a young adult and later lived briefly in Vansant, VA and Tazewell County, VA before moving to Abingdon in 2006. Arvil was a member of Barnes Chapel Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvil Lee Colley, Sr. and Uva Colley; three brothers, Benny, Clay, and Danny Colley; and one sister, Nell Fleming. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Colley; two sons, Eddie Colley of Sweet Home, OR and Arvil Lee Colley, II of Palestine, IN; six daughters, Pam Ridings of West Lafayette, IN, Lee Ann Anderson of Ligonier, IN, Cricket Lee of Clinchco, VA, Tina Artirt of Clinchco, VA, Peggy Eppert of Syracuse, IN, and Donna Barth of Columbia City, IN; two brothers, Miles Colley of Holly, MI and Lamar Colley of Lewisburg, TN; three sisters, Ruth Estep of Hurley, VA, Blanche O’Quinn of Vansant, VA, and Pricilla Jackson of Richlands, VA; numerous grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A song service will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the funeral home with Corey Dye officiating.
