Meadowview, Va.- Barbara Allen “Granny” Scott, age 77, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Barbara was born September 13, 1941 in Washington County to the late Will and Myrtle Blevins Glass. She was a member of Blackwell Chapel United Methodist Church and had been employed with People, Inc. as a cook for eight years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and her kids at Head Start. Barbara also enjoyed making apple butter at the church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Edward Scott; daughter, Linda Bellamy; and son, Fred Scott.
She is survived by her son, Joe Scott and wife, Dee Dee of Damascus; daughter, Kathy Hardin and husband, Doug of Meadowview; sister, Joyce Foster of Maryland; grandchildren, Tracy Bellamy, Scottie Rhoten, Matthew Hardin, Amanda Rodriguez, special little buddy, Frankie Minton; six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Charles Scott and wife, Ruth of Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Edna Glass; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 in Blackwell Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Castle and Pastor Scott Spence officiating. Burial will follow in Blackwell Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Hardin, Reelia Ryan Watson, Ronnie Musick, Jonathan Hockett, Steve Cramer, Jr., Indio Rodriguez, and Kurt Woodward. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Blackwell Chapel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
