Barbara Elizabeth King Wilson, 104 passed away on Monday, July 4, 2011 at her daughter's home.
She was born on September 4, 1906 in Russell County Virginia, a daughter of the late Steven Jett and Martha Lilly King. Barbara was a member of the Oak Grove Methodist Church in Russell County until transferring her membership in 1940 to River View Methodist Church in Bristol, VA. She had resided in Bristol, VA since 1935.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George W. Wilson; sisters, Gladys Francisco and Gay Ruth Glenn; brothers, Ford King, Brice King, Hunter King, and Lawrence King.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Sue Wagner and husband Mac; son, Fred C. Wilson; grandsons, David Wagner and wife Heather and Fred C. Wilson, Jr. all of Bristol, VA; great-grandchildren, Hope Elizabeth and Chloe Shea Wagner and Christopher Elijah Wilson; sister, Juanita Cumbow, Mount Carmel, TN and brother, Cecil King, Lebanon, VA; sister-in-law, Inalee King, Kingsport, TN and brother-in-law, Ralph Glenn, Lakeland, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Dr. Jack Garland officiating. Burial will follow the service at Russell Memorial Cemetery, Lebanon, VA at 1:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be her nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
