Barbara Jean Bowers Sullins

Barbara Jean Bowers Sullins, age 70, of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at her son’s residence. She was the first of five children born to the late E.H. Bowers and Virginia Ruth Blevins Bowers.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Sammy Gilbert Sullins; son, Larry Gilbert Sullins; brother, Michael Wayne Bowers; and companion, Jerry Rosenbaum.
Barbara is survived by her son, James Daniel Sullins and wife, Lori, of Bristol, Tenn.; three brothers: Butch Bowers of Abingdon, Va.; Rick Bowers and wife, Lottie, of Ridgefield, N.C.; and Ralph Douglas Bowers and wife, Michelle, of Florida; sister-in-law, Melody Bowers of Abingdon, Va.; four grandchildren, Brandy, Miranda, Adrianna, and Samuel Jacob Sullins; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Paul Price officiating.
