Barnes Stacy, age 81, of Grundy, Va., passed away at Heritage Hall-Grundy on Monday, January 28, 2019. Barnes was a lifelong resident of Grundy, and was a retired coal miner. He was a Christian of the Pentecostal faith. Barnes was a man of many talents. He was very artistic and had a gift to play many musical instruments; including guitar, banjo, piano, keyboard and harmonica. Additionally, Barnes was good with his hands and he could fix almost anything that was broken.
Barnes was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Adaline Stacy; four brothers, Freddie, Clinard, James, and Radford Stacy; six sisters, Naomi Stacy, Anita Maggard, Shelby Howier, Lydia Adams, Gertrude Shortt, and Mildred Keen; and two siblings who died in infancy.
He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Burns of Tampa, Fla. and Jeanette Stacy of Bristol, Va.; sister, Marie Dotson of Hurley, Va.; five grandchildren, Alicia Burns, Cassandra Burns, Blake Burns, Hannah Strickland, and Gracie Webb; and one great granddaughter.
