Berry Leslie Conway II, age 60, of Abingdon, Va., passed away unexpectedly on October 22, 2016, at his home. He was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Kentucky where he later earned his Juris Doctorate. B.L. practiced law in Abingdon for almost three decades, including 23 years at his own practice, Conway Law Firm. He was an accomplished trainer and breeder of Standardbred horses.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Onan Conway; and paternal grandparents, John B. Conway and Anna Elizabeth Thomas Conway.
He is survived by his father, John Berry “Jack” Conway II; loving wife of 36 years, Darlene Branham Conway; two sons, Michael Lawrence “Toby” Conway and wife Victoria of Indiana and John Berry Conway III of Savannah, Ga.; daughter, Leslie Nicole “Nikki” Conway of Coral Springs, Fla.; two brothers, Bart Jay Conway and wife Wendy of Abingdon, Va. and Tommy Lee Conway and wife Janna of Bowling Green, Ky.; and three grandchildren, Joseph Tyler Conway, Katherine Jade Conway, and Noah Alexander Rodriguez.
A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, Va. 24210, where friends and family will be welcome to share memories and express sympathy. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Thursday at the Forest Hills Chapel prior to the service.
