Bessie Gobble Moore, 93, of Abingdon, VA went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 8, 2011.

She was born in Washington County, VA to the late Andrew and Maggie Gobble. She was a member of Lindell Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband George Moore.

Bessie is survived by her three daughters, Sylvia Counts and her husband Don of Bristol, TN, Velma Eldreth and her husband Ron of Abingdon, VA, and Barbara Buttry and her husband Carl of Bristol, TN; a brother Amos Gobble and his wife Cosby of Meadowview, VA; eight grandchildren, Kevin and Brian Counts, Velvet Eldreth, Stephanie Caudill, Tonya Coleman, Charmian Booker, Duane and Carl S. Buttry; also surviving her are several special nieces and nephews, and friends. One of her nieces Edna Glass of High Point, NC lived with Bessie for nine years.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Farris Cremation and Funeral Center, Forest Hills Chapel, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210 with Johnny Farmer and Everette Morefield officiating. Entombment will follow the service in the Colonial Chapel Mausoleum, Forest Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 10, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Farris Funeral Service, Forest Hills Chapel.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Hospice of Southwest Virginia for their care they provided Bessie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Rescue Squad, 7712 Hayter's Gap Road, Saltville, Virginia or to the Glade Spring Disaster Relief Fund.
