Betty "Betsy" Bailey, age 85, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church and enjoyed walking at the Coomes Center.
She was born to the late John Jacob Walker and Mary Alice Graham. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lane Bailey.
She is survived by her son, Chad Bailey; daughter, Kimberly Beth Fern and husband Jim of Abingdon, VA; two sisters, Barbara Faulkner of Greeneville, SC and Mary Alice Denton of Crestwood, IL; two granddaughters, Whitney Fern and Bailey Fern both of Abingdon, VA; and special friend, Jenny Talton of Raleigh, NC.
Visitation will be from 6:00-7:30 p.m., Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Mark B. McFadden officiating. Entombment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012 in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum of Knollkreg Memorial Park where Bo Boyd, Shawn Crookshank, Mike Hagy, Rick Hagy, Matt Smith, and Ray Talton will serve as pallbearers. The Men of Shady Grove United Methodist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
