Betty C. Lloyd, 75, went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 20, 2016 in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Proverbs 31: 28-29 “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.”
Betty was born August 25, 1941, in Elizabethton, Tenn. to the late James and Beulah Calloway. She had worked for many years as a rest home administrator where she loved and cared for so many people. Betty enjoyed cooking, traveling, spending time at the beach, and loved above all spending time with her family. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Betty was a member of Mount Carmel Christian Church.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, J.R. Calloway and C.D. Calloway; and one sister, Frankie Calloway.
Betty is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Kirby Lloyd; one son, Kirby Lloyd, Jr. and wife Leslie of West Point, Miss.; three daughters, Belinda Brannon and husband Lee of Glade Spring, Va., Deborah Hill and husband David of Knoxville, Tenn., and Mary Bordwine of Abingdon, Va.; one brother, Jimmy Calloway and wife Lisa of Abingdon; grandchildren, Ashley Fischetti, Courtney Wheeler, Eric Hill, Travis Brannon, Andrew Hill, Ethan Bordwine, Cherish Lloyd, Brendon Bordwine, and Jacob Lloyd; great-grandchildren, Jayden Wheeler, Karson Wheeler, and Archer Lloyd; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2016 in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, Va. with Minister Ronnie Musick officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. The interment will follow at Knollkreg Memorial Park where grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
