Betty S. Emerson, age 85, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023. She was born in White Top, Virginia to the late Dewey Farmer and Minnie Roop Farmer on January 24, 1938. Betty was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She enjoyed her flower garden and always had beautiful flowers.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Virgil Emerson; two sisters, Hazel Dolinger and Mae Taylor and three brothers, Earl Farmer, Ed Farmer and Willis Farmer.
Survivors include her son, Ronnie Emerson and his wife Teresa; granddaughter Chavala Emerson; special great-grandsons, Brayden Emerson and Braxton Emerson; special great-granddaughter, Ciera Emerson and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Farris Cremation and Funeral Center - Forest Hills Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Dr. Austin Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Brayden Emerson, Braxton Emerson, Odie Barker, Will Barker, Mack Farmer and Frank Fiorentino.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org, or to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
