Betty Jewell Adams, 79, passed away Sunday February 21, 2010 in the Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol, TN. She was born in Goodwill, West Virginia on January 18, 1931.
She was a member of the Glade Spring Baptist Church and a charter member of the Glade Spring Volunteer Rescue Squad. She had been employed with Harwood, Inc.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Presley Sadler and Sarah Price Sadler, a twin brother, Rudolph Buell Sadler and her husband, Harry Oscar Adams.
Survivors include a son and his wife, John Harry and Michelle Adams, Glade Spring, VA,
his siblings, Jack Saddler and wife Ruth, Glade Spring, VA, James Sadler and wife Pat, Glade Spring, VA, Kenneth Sadler and wife Carol, North Carolina and Karl Sadler, Dexter, Ohio, Delores Evans, Dexter, Ohio, two step-grandchildren, Scott and Courtney Rouse, several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Debbie Caywood, also several great nieces and nephews.
A cryptside service will be conducted Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel Mausoleum at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Greg Hensley officiating. Entombment will follow the service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Rouse, Stewart Buckley, Jeremiah Eskridge, Bobby Painter, Everette Painter, Tommy DeBusk, Steve Shortridge, Jeff Smith and the Deacons of the Glade Spring Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel.
