Glade Spring, VA – Betty Jo Herald Shumate, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was the only daughter of the late Clint and Nannie Herald. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Shumate; and two brothers, Paul W. Herald and Marvin H. Herald. Surviving are her two daughters, Patricia A. Snow and husband Dennis of Chilhowie, VA and Pamela L. Estep and husband Rodney of Glade Spring, VA; brother, Ronald E. Herald of Glade Spring, VA; five grandchildren, Jason Fuller of Bristol, TN, Eric Snow of Chilhowie, VA, Monica Merrell and husband Ben of North Pole, AK, Chanda Jones and husband Chris of Nashville, TN, and Britiany Estep of Washington, D.C.; and five great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2015, at Old Glade Presbyterian Cemetery with Minister Don Turnmire officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
