Betty June Barrett Browning

Betty June Barrett Browning, age 86, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016, at Grace Healthcare. She was born June 10, 1929, in Saltville, Va. to the late Robert Lee Barrett and Elizabeth Clapp Barrett. Betty was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church and retired from Rex Shopping Center.
In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Payne Browning, Sr.; son, Harold Payne Humpy Browning, Jr.; and brother, Bill Barrett of Saltville, Va.
She is survived by her grandson, Trey Browning and wife Cheryl of Bean Station, Tenn.; granddaughter, Tana Glavocich Radosevic and husband Rad of Charlotte, N.C.; four great-grandchildren, Blake, Cheyenne, Kirsten, and Luka; two sisters, Ella Lee and husband Paul of Saltville, Va. and Carol Yates and husband Jim of Abingdon, Va.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friend, Bill Fuller of Abingdon, Va.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 329 Whites Mill Road, Abingdon, Va. 24210. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Mark B. McFadden officiating. A private committal service will be held at Holston Conference Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Grace Healthcare.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shady Grove United Methodist Church.
