Betty Strong Leonard

Betty Strong Leonard, a beloved homemaker and mother, passed away at home and went to be the Lord  on February 18, 2024, in Abingdon, VA, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 25, 1942, in Raven, Virginia, to Isaac Strong and Della Smith.

Betty dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving home for her family. Her kindness and nurturing nature touched the lives of all who knew her. She found joy in simple moments and cherished spending time with her loved ones. She loved  cooking and raising her family. She was a member of North Fork Baptist Church and she loved reading her bible. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, E.W. Leonard, Jr.; Son; Rick Leonard;  parents, Isaac Strong, Della Smith; grandson Dylan Lankford; several brothers and sisters. Leaving behind are her children; daughters Jennifer Corn, Pammy Sue Lankford; sons, Randy Leonard, and Darrell Leonard; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation to honor Betty's life will take place on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Farris Funeral Service – Main Street Chapel in Abingdon. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Roger Hearl officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers. 

Betty's legacy of love and family devotion will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing she was truly cherished and adored.
