Betty Louise Short

Abingdon, Va.- TSGT Betty Louise Short, U.S.A.F., Ret., age 88, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019.  Ms. Short was born in Indiana and relocated to Abingdon, Va. after serving 20 years in the United States Air Force.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Venoy and Edith Locke Short; brothers, Jack, Junior and Thomas Short; sister, Sally Jones; and three half-sisters. Ms. Short is survived by her nieces, Teresa Short, Tammy Miller, Kayla Miller, Debbie Short; and nephew, Jimmy Short.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 12, 2020, in Arlington National Cemetery.  Military honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force.   Those wishing to express sympathy online may do so by visiting www.farrisfuneralservice.com and signing the online guestbook.   The family of TSGT Betty Louise Short, U.S.A.F., Ret. is being cared for by Farris Funeral Service and Crematory, 427 E.
