Betty Mae King, 77, of Bristol, Va., went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. She was born July 20, 1940, to the late Robert A. Rosenbaum and Susie Kathleen Rosenbaum. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who harbored an abounding love for children and animals.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dewey Lee King; seven brothers and two sisters. Betty is survived by two daughters, Teresa Sweet of the home and Debbie Shrewsbury of Bristol, Va.; brother, Pete Rosenbaum of Abingdon, Va.; two sisters, Mary Sullins and Janie Bowman, both of Abingdon, Va.; three beloved grandchildren, Travis Shrewsbury and wife, Chelsea, Ashley Johnson and husband, Aaron, and Heather Shrewsbury; great-granddaughter, Madison Odum; great-grandson, Jace Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2018, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A committal service will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where George Burks, Aaron Johnson, Joe Roark, Tyler Roark, Bryan Saul, and Eddie Shrewsbury will serve as pallbearers. Bill Casey, Randy Reynolds, and Travis Shrewsbury will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted.
