Betty Mae Mountain, age 78, of Glade Spring, Va., passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Valley Health Care Center. Betty was a native of Washington County, Va. and was a Christian woman. She delighted in her role as home maker by bringing joy to all who entered. She loved Elvis and Don Williams’ music. Betty was known for her happy personality and her “It’ll be okay” attitude.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Raymond; son, Kenny Ray; and granddaughter, Shanna Osani. She is survived by her son, Mike Mountain and wife Judy of Glendora, Calif.; daughter, Juanita Barr and husband Charles of Chilhowie, Va.; grandchildren, Aiden Barr, Autumn Barr, Blaine Hughes, Blaze Hughes, Heather Brewster, Shane Mountain, and Jessica Osani; great grandchildren, Emma Brewster and Danica McCardell. Several sisters also survive.
A funeral service for Betty Mae Mountain will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2016, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor David Gary officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016, at the funeral home.
