Betty Jo Osborne

Abingdon, Va.

Betty Jo Osborne, age 82, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022, at the Ballad Hospice House. Betty was born in Bristol, Va. but had spent several years in Maryland, where she retired from Giant Foods. When her health permitted, she attended Rosedale Baptist Church. Betty will be remembered as being a feisty and independent lady.

She was predeceased by her husband Wilmer Osborne, daughter Sandra Gail Martin, parents Nat and Bea Jones, and brother Robert “Bob” Jones.

Betty is survived by sister-in-law Gail Jones, niece Jennifer Ray and husband Kenny, Bridgett Cooney and husband Mike Dress, nephews Danny Jones and wife Sherry, and Bryan Cunningham, great nieces and nephews Heather Pope and husband Kenny, Cody Nunley and wife Samantha, Cassidy Cooney, Collin Ray and wife Madison, and Connor Ray, and great-great nephew Noah Pope.

A funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 28, 2022, at the Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum; 1019 Valley Drive; Bristol, Va. 24201 with Rev. Charlie Fugate officiating. Private interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Those attending are asked to be at the mausoleum at least 15 minutes prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ballad Hospice House; 280 Steeles Road; Bristol, TN 37620.
