Abingdon, Va. – Beulah Stringer passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021. She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Virginia, daughter of the late Trigg and Branche Thompson, a retired teacher of Washington County, Virginia, and a member of Meadowview United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Stringer; two sisters, Virginia Thompson, and Marion Euna Mumpower; two brothers, Frank Thompson, and Dallas Thompson.
Survivors include niece, Joanne Thompson of Abingdon, Virginia; nephew, David Thompson and wife Marisa of Blountville, Tennessee; niece, Jane Richmond and husband Charlie of Blountville, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Judy Stringer, and Peggy Lester; and several special and loved nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, February 21, 2021, at 3:30 PM, at Knollkreg Memorial Park, with Rev. Barbara Doyle officiating. Kevin Thompson, Ethan Thompson, Grant Thompson, Hugh C. Stringer, John Birckhead, and Jacky Lester will serve as pallbearers.
Joe Booth, Jr., Joe Campbell, Wayne Hayter, John W. Stringer, Jimmy Stringer, Ed Stringer, Billy Lester, Tommy Lester, John Thacker, Tommy Scott, Jerry Keene, James Kiser, Homer Deel, Ricky Hearl, J.W. Hornby, Tommy Necessary, and Dave Caraway receive special recognition as honorary pallbearers.
Covid-19 guidelines will be followed to include wearing of masks, social distancing, and adhering to occupancy guidelines.
