Beverly June Avis Walton

Abingdon, VA – Beverly June Avis Walton, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bristol, VA. She was the first of three children born to the late James O. Avis and Betty Vasian Avis on February 2, 1950, in Logan, WV. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, James W. Avis. She is survived by her sister, Jayne Hazelton and husband Prescott Blake of Durango, CO; aunt, Barbara Baldwin of Abingdon, VA; two cousins, Robert Baldwin and wife Susan of Chapmanville, WV, and Lisa Harrison and husband Nathan of Sale Creek, TN; two second cousins, Nathan Harrison and wife Bryn of Atlanta, GA and Allison Pedigo and husband Rockwell of Woodstock, GA; and numerous additional aunts and cousins in West Virginia and Florida. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 13 Heritage Drive, Bristol, VA 24201, with Bishop Jeff Bauserman officiating.
