Chief Bill Margerum (USN Retired) passed away April 4, 2013. His wife and daughters helped him courageously fight an 11 year battle with cancer while his sons-in-law carried on his legacy of maintaining a beautiful yard.
Bill retired from the Civil Service and made his home in Abingdon 40 years ago. He drove a school bus and always enjoyed seeing his school bus riders all grow up.
A memorial service for Bill Margerum will be held at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Green Spring Presbyterian Church. Mr. Margerum donated his body to Quillen School of Medicine.
Family and friends are invited to the service to celebrate the life of a true gentleman and veteran of WWII.
