Mr. Billy Alden Artrip, age 73, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 in his home.
Billy was born March 2, 1944 in Russell Co., VA to the late Alden Artrip and the late Martha Duty Artrip. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of Shakesville Tabernacle. Billy enjoyed farming and his fruit trees.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Artrip.
Billy is survived by his wife, Phyllis Artrip; one son, Kenneth Artrip and wife, Kathy of Blountville; two grandson’s, Austin Artrip and David Johnston both of Blountville; brother, Charlie Artrip and wife, Ethel of Radford; sister, Mary Ann Puckett and husband, Donald of Bristol; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be conducted 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Darrell Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until time for service. The committal service will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in Mountain Home National Cemetery, 53 Memorial Drive, Mountain Home, TN 37684. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 2:15 p.m. Pallbearers will be David Johnston, Austin Artrip, James Musick, Jackie Puckett, Jerry Puckett, and Eric Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Musick, Clayton Blaylock, Donald Puckett, and Douglas Taylor. Military honors will be conducted by Boone Dam V.F.W. Post #4933.
