Billy Joe Vajda, 69, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. He was a lifelong resident of Russell County, Va. Prior to retirement, Billy worked in the shipping department of Buster Brown. His family’s memory of him is that he was a loving family man who enjoyed New York Yankees baseball.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents Ortha and Joseph Vajda, and by his wife Wanda Morrison Vajda. He is survived by his daughter Mary Morris and granddaughter Brittney Hall, both of Castlewood, and fur babies Spike, Sadie, and Gumball.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Morrison Family Cemetery, Flats Circle Road, Castlewood, Va. with Kenneth Morrison officiating. Casket bearers will be Chris Hale, Abe Morrison, Eugene Maxfield, Kenneth Maxfield, Billy Wayne Wampler, and Eric Hall. Those attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery not later than 15 minutes prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are suggested.
