Billy Junior "June" Otey, Sr.

Billy Junior “June” Otey, Sr., age 79, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at his home. Born March 30, 1936, he was the last of six children born to the late John Lindsey Otey and Mamie Mann Otey. In addition to his parents and siblings, June was also preceded in death by his grandson, Ray Newcomb, Jr. He is survived by his son, Billy Junior Otey, Jr. of Berryville, VA; two daughters, Betty Russell and husband Tommy of Hudson, NC and Katherine Anice Crabtree and husband Billy of Abingdon, VA; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at Mountain View Methodist Cemetery off Rt. 75 with Pastor Paul Price officiating. Pallbearers will be David Anderson, Austin Hicks, Hunter Hicks, and Steven Scarberry. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 18th at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
