Billy Monroe “Wahoo” “Big Pop” Howell, age 74, of Abingdon, Va. and formerly of Nashville, Tenn., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, with family by his side. He was a proud 49-year member of the National Automatic Sprinkler Industry Local 669 and lived his life by the credo, “If you find a job you love you’ll never work a day in your life.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lemuel Howell and Henry Mignon Lattimer Howell; sister, Marquetta Foust.
Billy is survived by his wife, Teresa Rainey-Howell; brother-in-law, Wayne Rainey; special cousin “brother”, Tommy Henry; five children: Kerry Dean (Angela) Howell of Burns, Tenn.; Bridgett Pruitt Powell of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; Jeffrey Monroe (Amanda) Howell of Las Vegas, Nev.; Britton Howell (Will) Fraley of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and Daniel Allen Howell of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, Blake (Lauren), Dylan, Grace, Madilyn, Ella, Darby, Matthew, Savannah, Maddie, and Emma; and one great granddaughter, Henley.
There are no services scheduled at this time, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
