Mr. Bobby Mont Eades, 77, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was a life-long resident of Washington County, Va., son of the late Alexander Mont Eades and Elizabeth Roena Callahan Eades. Bob was a graduate of Greendale High School, and he attended East Tennessee State University and Tennessee Wesleyan College. He attended Quarry Methodist Church in Saltville, Va.Bob had been a teacher at the Washington County Technical School and worked throughout his life as a building contractor. He had also been involved with his family-owned Dodge dealership in Abingdon, and he enjoyed restoring antique cars.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, Dr. Gregory Mont Eades, his brother, Jim Eades, and his step-mother, Inez Eades.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Soyars Yontz Eades; daughter Sharon Eades McKinney (Sam) of Chilhowie; step-children Cynthia Yontz, Rob Yontz (Shannon) and Bill Yontz (Ruth); brothers Steve Eades (Brenda) of Bristol, Va., and Mark Eades (Crystal) of Troutville, Va.; grandchildren Seth McKinney (Rebecca), Samuel McKinney (Kailee), Alex Eades, and Abby Eades Hawkins (Cody); step-granddaughter Carley Yontz; great-grandchildren Ellie Hawkins and Maddox Hawkins; sisters-in-law Dellene Eades and Jane Glover; brother-in-law Jim Soyars (Donna); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service for Bob Eades will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with the Rev. Leonard Smith and the Rev. Frank Branson officiating. Burial will follow at Knollkreg Memorial Park; pallbearers will be Seth McKinney, Samuel McKinney, Alex Eades, Cody Hawkins, Richard Steffey, Jerry Jones, Dr. Stephen Childress, Jim Soyars, Bill Yontz, Greg Thompson, Harry Ashley, Blake Eades, Ken Wilson, Keith Harrison, Clyde Landreth, Aaron Gobble, Chip McCall, Matthew Eades, Colin Eades, Joe Andis, Ralph Crosswhite, Jeff Scott and Paul Price.The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2018, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
