Bobby Joe Street age 69, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020. He was born in Honaker, Virginia to the late John Street and the late, Virginia Cox Street.
Bobby had served in the United States Army and was a member of Lakeshore Community Church. Bobby retired from Island Creek Coal Company where he was an electrician and he loved farming, fishing, and working with exotic animals.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Billy J. Street.
Bobby is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Betty Jo Street; one son, Bobby J. Street, Jr. and wife, Heather of Abingdon; one daughter, Belinda Sue Wright and husband, Scott of Glade Spring; two brothers and one sister; three grandchildren, Hunter Chase Wright, Whitley Jo Street, and Waylon John Street.
A graveside service will be conducted 2 pm Sunday, January 19, 2020 on the family farm, 23462 Drake Road, Abingdon, VA 24210 with Steve McCoy officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Virginia National Guard and Highlands Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Bobby Street, Jr., Scott Wright, Hunter Wright, Brian Johnson, Barry Johnson, and Daryll Vaught. The family will receive friends at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 427 East Main Street, Abingdon, on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 6-8 pm.
