Bobby Wayne Carver, age 79, of Meadowview, VA, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born in Bristol, Va., a son of William and Mary Carver, and lived many of his years in South Bend, IN. He served four years in the United States Air Force and retired from the Iron Workers Local 292. Bob was a proud member of the Red Cross and served on numerous Aide Missions. He was a valued member serving in various positions within the church at Christian Center in South Bend, IN. In later years became one of the Founding Fathers and faithful member of Life Line Ministries Outreach in Meadowview,VA. Where he was actively involved with his Church family for 18 years serving both as Deacon and Teacher. Bob was dedicated to his children and his grandchildren and adored being involved and supporting them in all aspects of their lives. He was a dedicated member of the McDonalds Breakfast Crew and loved spending lazy afternoons with his four legged sidekick “Prince”.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pauline Carver; six brothers and one sister.
Bob is survived by his two sons, Rick Carver of South Bend, IN; Richard Carver and wife Manisha of Meadowview, VA; 2 Grandchildren, Isaac and Hannah Carver; one sister Betty Crusenberry of Bristol, VA; one brother Jim Carver of Glendale, AZ; several nieces and nephews; Patricia Carver and other extended family of South Bend,IN.
Funeral Services for Mr. Carver will be on Monday, May 15,2017 at Farris Funeral Home in Abingdon, VA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with Memorial Service to follow, Rev. Darrell Martin officiating. A family committal service will take place at Southlawn Cemetary in South Bend, IN on Thursday, May 18th at 11:00am.
