Brady Glyn Williams

November 7, 1939 — July 9, 2014

Bristol, VA – Brady G. Williams, age 74, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Wellmont Hospice House. Brady was a family man who loved the Lord with all of his heart. He spent many hours with his grandsons who he loved very much. He was an avid woodworker who derived much pleasure out of making gifts for family and friends. He served as a ranger at Clear Creek Golf Course where he enjoyed spending many mornings having coffee with his golf buddies. He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing. Brady also enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, and sitting on the porch with his wife, Faye. He was the first employee hired at UPS in Bristol and the first employee to retire from the company after 25 years of service. He was born to the late Burleigh Williams, Sr. and Mary Leonard Williams. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by four brothers: Burleigh Williams, Jr.; Lincoln Williams, Lewis Williams, and his twin, Beaty Williams; three sisters, Mae Bowman, Margaret Ross, and Susie Ward. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Faye Williams; son, Phil Williams and wife Becky of Bristol, VA; daughter, Rhonda Canter and husband Stanley of Bristol, VA; brother, Lawrence Williams of Marion, VA; and two grandsons, Seth Williams and Cody Canter. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Colonial Chapel Mausoleum of Forest Hills Memory Gardens, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the mausoleum with the Reverend Michael Wilson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Serenity Garden Mausoleum. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Cole, Harry Cross, Gene Ross, Don Sawyers, and Tony Wright. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
