Brenda Mae Eskridge, age 54, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at her home.
She was born to the late Arthur James Brooks and Lela Marie Rutter Brooks. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Wayne Eskridge; mother-in-law, Virgie Eskridge of Damascus, VA, who was like a second mother; one brother, Rocky Lester Brooks and wife Beth of Abingdon, VA; two nephews, Sammy Brooks, Michael Brooks and wife Savannah; two nieces, Amanda Harmon and husband Brian and Brianna Brooks; special friends, Peggy Harless, Betty Harless, Dorothy Kilby, Linda Harper, Jewell and Sam Burke; and beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Brutus.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and staff of Abingdon Cancer Center, Dr. Brookly Craven and the staff of Stone Mountain Health Services, and the many dedicated friends who assisted Brenda during her illness.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 230 Charwood Drive Abingdon, VA 24210.
The family finds comfort in knowing that Brenda's anatomical remains were donated for medical advancement and research in accordance with her wishes.
