Mendota, VA Mr. Bruce Richard Cullop, age 70, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015. He was born in Meadowview, VA, but had lived in Mendota for many years. Richard was in the construction business and was skilled in areas of the trade. He was a man of many talents. Richard could make or do anything with his hands, make furniture, repair old cars and build houses. He loved dancing and hunting; however, he will be most remembered as a man who was always there, ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was predeceased by his parents, Bruce and Hattie Mae Galliher Cullop. Richard is survived by his son, Douglas Richard Cullop and wife Tammy of Mendota, VA; daughter Diane Sue Miller and husband Tony of Bristol, VA; girlfriend Willie Mae Nash of Mendota, VA; brothers Bud Cullop of Mtn. City, TN and Eddie Cullop of Abingdon, VA; sister Lila Cook of Abingdon, VA; grandchildren Kyle Benjamin Flynn, Kayla Christine Flynn and Joshua Douglas Cullop. A graveside service for Bruce Richard Cullop will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Brother Adam Wise officiating; Casket bearers will by Rodney Jennelle, Kyle Flynn, Joshua Cullop, Travis Rasnake, Brian Williams, Brian Cullop, Daryl Blaylock and Jimmy Cullop. Honorary bearers will be Tivis Tiller, Phil Fleming, Donis Cook and Rick Watson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Sunday July 12, 2015 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
