Carl Blair Reynolds, age 84, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Carl was born in Abingdon and spent most of his life there. During his working years, Carl had worked at Westinghouse and at Food City, where he worked in maintenance. He retired from Food City, a place that he loved, two years ago because of an injury.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents James and Mozelle Reynolds, and his son David.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nancy. When asked how they stayed married for so long, he’d reply “I’m the peanut butter and Nancy is the jelly.” Carl is also survived by his sons Joe and wife Danielle of Bunnlevel, N.C., Mike and wife Pam of Meadowview, Va., and James and wife Sharon of Abingdon; daughters Lisa Reynolds and husband Dale of Graham, N.C., Shannon Rose and husband Virgil of Bristol, Tenn., and Sheenan Hyatt and husband Chris of Glade Spring, Va.; special granddaughter Auna Louthian and husband Shawn of Glade Spring, Va.; as well as several other grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren. Carl is also survived by his brown-eyed fur babies Charlie-girl and Titan.
Funeral services will be private. However, a memorial service for his many friends will be announced at a later date.
