Glade Spring, VA – Carl Clinton Roark, Jr., age 92, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 10, 2017, at Abingdon Health & Rehab. He was the third of four children born to the late Carl Clinton Roark, Sr. and Margie Bailey Roark on August 26, 1924. Carl retired from Ray Moore Trucking in Kingsport, TN. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, R.C., Frank, and Vernie Roark.
Carl is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Wright Roark; two daughters, Sharon Roark Widener and husband David Harless of Bristol, VA and Sabrina Roark Sparks and husband Lee Sparks of Jackson, TN; two step children, Bobby Eugene Mullins and wife George Ann of Bristol, TN and Debora Lynn Price of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters-in-law, Doris Roark of Bristol, VA and Helen Roark of Abingdon, VA; five grandchildren, Brian Mullins, Robby Price, Courtney Spicer, Melanie Hope Widener, and Alexis When; five great grandchildren, Mercedes Price, Landon Chace Odum, Shayla Rae Odum, Sophia Spicer, and Henry Spicer; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Mike Canter officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to convene at the cemetery before 2:00 p.m.
