Carl Lee Turley, 84, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 6, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Thomas Turley, and a son, Christopher James Turley. He is survived by three sons, Michael Turley and wife Donna, Tony Turley, and Timothy Turley and wife Selena; sister, Muriel Bailey; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Turley served in the United States Army, was a retiree from E. I. DuPont, and was a charter member of Clover Hill Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 2:00- 4:00 p.m. and 6:00- 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9th at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, Richmond, VA 23234.
Mr. Turley will be transferred to Farris Funeral Service, 427 East Main Street, Abingdon, VA, where the family will receive friends from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 11th. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 12th at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service the Reverend Calvin T. Eaves, Sr. officiating. A committal service will follow at Mountain View Baptist Cemetery in Meadowview, VA where Keith Harrison, Aaron Turley, Adam Turley, Alex Turley, Andrew Turley, Kevin Turley, Steve Turley, and Wayne Turley will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to In Touch Ministries, P. O. Box 7900, Atlanta, GA 30357.
