Carl Wayne Blevins, age 72, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. As a member of Calvary Baptist Church he served as a Deacon, Trustee, and Sunday School Teacher. He was also a veteran of United States Army having served in Germany for three years, and retired from Electro-Mechanical Corporation after 37 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell Blevins and Nell Ellis Blevins; father-in-law, Roy Otis Blevins; two brothers, Earl Blevins and Ralph Blevins; and two sisters, Louise Eveler and Cloe Goff.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Carol Jean Blevins; mother-in-law, Marie Billings and husband Walter of Abingdon, VA; son, Chris Blevins and wife Ruby Ann of Abingdon, VA; daughter, Kathy Watson and husband Brother Darrell Watson of Meadowview, VA; four brothers, Wade Blevins and wife Sondra of Meadowview, VA, Pastor Ronnie Blevins and wife Nora of Meadowview, VA, Ivan Blevins and wife Patricia of Abingdon, VA, and Kyle Blevins of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Erma Dye and husband Fred of Glade Spring, VA and Leona Thompson of PA; and three grandchildren, Shane, Mandy, and Jordan Watson.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 4, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Harry Booher and Brother Bob Steele officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Terry Crusenberry, Troy Hinchey, Doug Pendergrass, Paul Phipps, Danny Pullon, Rusty Short, and Keith Trivette will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his Electro-Mechanical Corporation Family and his Sunday School Class at Calvary Baptist Church.
