Carmen Elsie Durrett, 93, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April, 15, 2011.
Formerly of Bristol, VA, Meadowview, VA and Lebanon, VA, Carmen Durrett passed away near St. Louis, MO where she lived with her son and daughter-in-law, Dale D. Durrett and Nancy H. Durrett. She also leaves behind four grandchildren Danielle (Durrett) Rosebaum, James Durrett, Robert Durrett, and Jane Durrett; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. M. Winfrey Durrett, son Glen W. Durrett, and a granddaughter, Stacey (Durrett) Fagley.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Mountain View Baptist Church 26697 Old Saltworks Road, Meadowview, VA., with Pastor Sherrell Dunn and Rev. Larry Burton officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hills Memory Garden , 19415 Lee Highway , Abingdon , VA. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Farris Funeral Service 427 East Main Street, Abingdon, VA 24210
