Carol L. Deel

Carol L. Deel, age 87, of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Johnston Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Lacy S. Owens and Maxie Viers Owens in Dickenson County, Va. on March 6, 1930. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, Carol was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert Deel; and her son, Dewey Deel.

She is survived by three sons: Randy Deel and wife Della of Bristol, Va.; Ernie Deel and wife Merri of Charleston, S.C.; and Ray Deel of Abingdon, Va.; two daughters, Linda Springer of Abingdon, Va. and Sandra Kane of Nashville, Tenn.; daughter-in-law, Malinda Deel of Bluefield, Va.; brother, Donald Owens of Dickenson, Co., Va.; and three grandchildren, Lisa Adkins, Amanda Kane, and Olivia Kane.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Saturday at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, Va. 24210, prior to the graveside service.
