Casey Joe Sollien, Sr, age 63, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011 at his home. He was a current resident of Abingdon and former long-time resident of Buchanan County, Virginia. He was a retired building contractor and was a loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; his children: Brad Sollien of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Kylee Sollien and Brent Nester of North Carolina; and son and daughter-in-law, CJ and Beth Sollien of Virginia Beach, VA; his brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Glenda Sollien; two sisters: Sandra Sollien and Gladys Compton; and many other close family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service on Saturday, December 3, 2011, and on Sunday, December 4, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. each evening. The graveside funeral service will be Monday, December 5, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain View United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Bill Edmonds officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, and those attending the graveside service are invited to meet at the cemetery.
