Cecil Ray Anders, age 86, of Bristol, Va., went peacefully to his heavenly home on November 2, 2024. He was born May 29, 1938 to Arlie and Mildred Canter Anders. 

Cecil was a retired teamster and spent his spare time dedicated to helping others. He loved to play golf, sing at church, work in the food pantry, and spend time with his family and friends with the occasional game night hosted at their house. Cecil loved NASCAR, pulling for the Ford drivers, and he always driving a Ford vehicle. He also was a Kansas City Chiefs fan and liked watching Virginia Tech football. He was often seen by his neighbors walking his dog Oreo every morning and was loved by all. He was a member and deacon of Suburban Christian Church of Bristol, Va. 

Cecil was married to the love of his life, Agnest Jeanette Anders, for 47 years. Their love was like no other; you would always see them together. Cecil and Jeanette both went home to the Lord within hours of each other. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Gary Anders, and his sister June Bailey. 

Cecil is survived by son, Bobby Anders (Diane) of Bristol, Va., son, James Anders of Bristol, Va.; daughter, Janet Anders of Sedalia, Mo.; daughter, Donna Welch (Chad) of St. Augustine, Fla., son, Wendell Harlow of Bristol, Va.; sister, Wanda McClain (Jerry) of Bluff City, Tenn.; and sister, Brenda Roe (Larry) of Bristol, Va. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Suburban Christian Church in Bristol, Virginia from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Richard Hodges and Pastor Rich Pannell officiating. Entombment will be held in Serenity Mausoleum at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Robbie Hahn, Isiah McDavid, Johnathan Harlow, Justin Harlow and Tyson Nickels serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Welch, Dylan Belcher and members of the Suburban Christian Church.
