Cecil Davis Webb, 90, went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 7, 2009 in UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.

He was born August 22, 1919 in Washington County, Virginia and was a son of the late Bernard and Martha Ann Davis Webb. Cecil retired from the Washington County School Systems and was a farmer. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army and was a member of Rich Valley United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parent, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Humphrey Webb, four sisters, and one brother. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Cecil was a hard working member of his community and had many great friends and neighbors. He always had a love for his family, his friends, and his country.

Survivors are his daughters, Patricia W. Hancock and husband, Robert of Kodak, TN and Linda Duty and husband, Walter of Bristol, VA; grandson, Shannon Lee Casey of Long Beach, CA; sisters-in-law, Irene Wallace, Hope Humphrey and Hassie Webb all of Abingdon; brother-in-law, Richard Mann of Abingdon and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 12, 2009 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Dr. Austin Cook and Rev. Mark McFadden officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens on Lee Highway in Abingdon. Pallbearers will be Earl Fogleman, Kenneth Worley, Don Duty, Wayne Turley, Wiley Price, Clarence Tedder, Bobby Thomas and Jerry Webb. Highlands Fellowship Veteran's Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends at Farris Funeral Service from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday.
