Charles Gabriel Neitch

Charles Gabriel Neitch, 20, affectionately known as "Big Gabe" passed away Monday, April 4, 2011 at his home after a 16 month courageous battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He was surrounded by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. John Chew, Victor Neitch, Carl Rowland; maternal grandmother, Louisa Chew Wolfe; paternal grandparents, Frances and Jimmy Neitch and his beloved brother, Travis Edwin Greer.
Survivors are his great grandparents, Leona Rowland and Mentha Neitch, grandfather, Dr. Walter Wolfe; grandparents, Charles and Darlene Neitch; his closest friend and sister, Chelsea Anne Neitch, his sister, Jessica Louise Greer; his older brother Timothy Blessing Neitch, Jr.; special aunt and uncle, Jeff and Dawn Griffith, whom he always referred to as his back-up set of parents and his wonderful aunt, Sabrina. Gabe was lucky enough to have two sets of parents, Ruth and Tim Neitch and Chuck and Joyce Neitch. Gabriel has a multitude of wonderful aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention but they know they were in his heart.
The family would also like to express heartfelt thanks to all the staff at St. Jude Children's Hospital facilities in Johnson City and Memphis, TN for all their personalized and concerned care throughout Gabriel's illness.
Also, a very special thanks to his hospice nurse, Renee Cox, R.N., who treated Gabriel as she would her own son.
The family will be receiving friends at Farris Funeral Service on Friday, April 8, 2011 from 12:00 (noon) until 2:00 P.M. A memorial service will then be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Abingdon with Father Paul Maier officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Gabriel's name to P.O. Box 1560, Chilhowie, VA 24319.
